Autumn/Winter 2010 Collection - The Raven

A preview of our Autumn/Winter 2010 Collection, The Raven, is on our website - www.rococo-atelier.com.

We took inspiration from the plethora of gothic characters shaping literature and media and the horrific genius of Edgar Allan Poe - whose classic poem lent its name to the collection. This collection introduces more draping into the garments along side our classic tailored fits and will be shown at Tranoi, in the Palais de la Bourse, Paris, January 22-24 2010.

More pictures from the collection will be available in the new year.

Finally, thanks to all our customers and everyone who has helped us in 2009 and please sign up to our new monthly mailing list with details of upcoming collections, exclusive previews, offers and invitations to events. Please email suneil@rococo-atelier.com to sign-up.

RoCoCo at Thomas Sabo party at Somerset house with Alex James and Ashley Walters

RoCoCo were pleased to attend the Thomas Sabo launch party in the galleries of Somerset house. By coincidence we arrived at the same time as Ashley Walters who was dressed in RoCoCo, sporting the white, erotic print t-shirt. Anything else was far too hot. The party had a very german name 'Time to Party' - we could imagine Arnold Schwartzenegger announcing it. People were glamorous and friendly and Alex James from Blur told us 'who turns down free champagne?'

RoCoCo DJ Rebel Rebel - Anti Style Launch by Keanan Duffty and Paul Gorman

AT URBAN OUTFITTERS, JUNE 4TH, 7-9PM.

INFO:
REBEL REBEL is the exciting new book about the look dominating fashion from the catwalk to the club: rebel style.

Tracing the roots of rebel style from iconic movie stars, performers and subversive artists to today’s cutting-edge designers and those rocking the fashion norm on the street, REBEL REBEL is the anti-style bible that will inspire fresh waves of designers, fashionistas and club kids alike. Rebel style is all about wearing commonly available items with a sense of creativity and irony. The classic leather jacket (think Brando or Joan Jett) remains a symbol of "outsider-dom", while jeans have been re-imagined as a style centrepiece by every generation. The skirt is constantly being reappraised, whether it’s mini, peasant, or frou-frou, to simultaneously celebrate and subvert images of femininity.

Author Keanan Duffty is a leading designer whose collections are inspired by subcultures and a rich mix of high fashion with music and youth culture. He is also the only designer to have collaborated with David Bowie on a clothing collection; their limited edition menswear range Bowie By Keanan sold through 1200 Target outlets in the US.

Drawing on his experiences as a rebellious teen in the north of England, out-there art student at leading London college Central Saint Martins, electro-pop artist, night-clubber extraordinaire, and membership of NYC’s downtown art-scene, Keanan unpicks the look and investigates the individual elements of rebel style in a series of highly visual sections.

REBEL REBEL is an ultra-cool document of our times, chock full of insider tips and revelations not only from Keanan’s life and career but also from the worlds of celebrity, fashion, movies, art and music.

Appealing to those interested in visual expression as well as fans of pop culture keen for guidance from one who truly knows, REBEL REBEL contains more than 300 images, ranging from street shots taken from Las Vegas to Tokyo and catwalk photos from New York, London and Paris. There are also heaps of iconic images of such rebel stars as Keith Richards, Iggy Pop, Marlon Brando, Amy Winehouse, Agyness Deyn and Kate Moss.

REBEL REBEL features an extra special foreword by BP Fallon, the rock & roll guru to the likes of John Lennon, Led Zeppelin, Courtney Love and U2.

URBAN OUTFITTERS is hosting the UK launch at their flagship store at Oxford Circus, London on June 4th, Rebel Rebel designers RoCoCo Atelier will be djing.

ROYKSOPP WEAR ROCOCO ATELIER ON THEIR EUROPEAN TOUR

Luxury men’s designer, RoCoCo Atelier is pleased to be dressing Norwegian electro group Royksopp on their current tour of Europe.

The band has selected from the extensive AW09 collection to wear on stage for their shows in June 2009.

The debut collection from RoCoCo brings gothic luxe to British menswear and has a strictly limited edition collection with only 100 of each piece being produced per season.

For autumn winter 09, Luxe leathers are studded and bring a real rock n roll twist to the collection as does the ¾ length military inspired overcoat with funnel neck fur collar. Hand embellishments on shirts create drama while the unique tailoring brings discreet elegance to the collection. Victorian erotic prints are hidden in pocket linings and also appear on suiting and t-shirts. Dark gothica, hints of ancient Egypt and the science of the human body, create the basis for RoCoCo’s innovative range.

SS10 Fashion Shoot

May 25th
Lookbook shooting with the Rogues at the White Womb Studio in London

Things progressed well with all set up and still shooting done by 1pm, however the band had still not arrived! On top of this all their phones were dead and the manager was not answering any more. They eventually turned up at 3.30, three and a half hours late, not having slept and with signs of self-harm from the night before. A little dazed they submitted to hair and make-up and in the nick of time we shot everything except one piece. Thanks to everyone for getting it done. Pictures will be released soon.
